Norwegian Getaway Cruise Ship Tour

Ahoy cruisers! welcome to our ship tour and
review of the Norwegian Getaway. Let’s start at the top of the ship, Deck
18 is the Sun Deck Let’s head down to the main pool area now.
It has 4 hot tubs. 2 for adults only… …and 2 for all the family. At the Waves Bar, you can grab a drink while
enjoying the pool facilities. Let’s head up a deck to Deck 16 where we
have the jogging track. Ahead is Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville, we
will take a good look at that later on. Ooh! Tired now! And here we have the Aqua Park with 5 thrilling
slides. The blue and green drop slides. Are you brave
enough to try these? Next is the kids pool area. With a play park for the little ones. On a night, the ship comes alive with beautiful
colours. Why not take a late-night dip in one of the
hot tubs? The market place is an outdoor shopping area. The ship looks beautiful at night, don’t
you think? The climbing wall on Deck 16 is great fun. One deck up on Deck 17 is The Ropes Course.
It is scary when you are up there…. …it is a lot higher than you think! Also on Deck 17 is the mini golf course. On Deck 17, at the very back of the ship,
is the Getaway Bounce & Slide Spider Mountain. Deck 18 is home to the Sports Court. Moving back down to Deck 16 is Jimmy Buffett’s
Margaritaville. We didn’t have a chance to eat at this speciality
restaurant as it was a little chilly, but the margaritas where good! The Video Arcade is next door to Jimmy Buffett’s
Margaritaville. Just behind this is Spice H20. This is the adults only area and features
2 hot tubs. The area is also used for party’s in warmer weather. There is also a waterfall which is great for
cooling off in warm weather. Or grab a drink at the Miami Beach Bar. The Guppies Play Room is a space for under
threes. And for the teenagers on-board we have the
Entourage Teen Lounge. One deck down, on Deck 15, is the well-equipped
fitness centre. Next-door is the Mandara Spa and Salon. This includes The Barbour Shop if you
fancy a hair cut. Not let’s look at the Garden Café which
is the buffet on-board. There is so much on offer for breakfast, lunch
and dinner. Look at our full tour video which will be coming soon. There are also plenty of teas, coffee and
juices. Now let’s look at two of the speciality
restaurants on-board. In the middle of these restaurants is the
Prime Meridian Bar. On the left-hand side is Moderno Churrascaria Brazilian
restaurant. It looks down to The Tropicana Room. And just across the way is Cagney’s Steak
House which serves mouth-watering steaks. Let’s look at the main entertainment area
which is located on Decks 6, 7 and 8. First up, on the right-hand side, is the Photo
Gallery. Here you can use the TV screens by just swiping your
card to look at and print your photos. Next is the Tradewinds shopping area. And at the centre of the ship is one of the two main atriums on-board. Surrounding this atrium, you can find the
Raw Bar. Next to that is Wasabi. And the Ocean Blue speciality restaurant. We loved the décor on-board the Getaway.
Its glamorous and gorges like a five-star hotel. Brrrr! Now let’s look at the Ice Bar. Oooh! It’s cold in here. I hope you brought your woollies. Your willies?… Your woollies! You can grab an iced vodka drink at the bar. Or take a seat on your ice throne. You receive two drinks, included in the cost
of your entry to the Ice Bar. Next, is one of our favourite haunts, the
Sugarcane Mojito bar. Where you can get a delicious array of tasty
mojitos. There is also live music and quizzes. Moving along Deck 8 we are coming up to the
Sunset Bar. We love the décor in here also, especially
the little touches of the lights been glasses. And here is Humidor Cigar Lounge. Opposite it La Cucina, the Italian restaurant. We had a delicious meal here didn’t we! It was yummy! Pasta… Pizza… all your Italian favourites. The Fat Cats Jazz and Blues club, which was
previously the Grammy Experience. It feels a bit of a strange space, with a
confused décor. Next is the wonderful Waterfront. This is an outdoor promenade deck… …with all the speciality restaurants on Deck 8 having outdoor seating here. It is a nice space to walk around during the
day or on a evening. The Bake Shop and Dolce Gelato shop serves
ice creams and cakes for an extra charge. Let’s take a walk around the Waterfront. Coming up is the Sugarcane Mojito Bar with
the outdoor seating area. Here is the glass walkway where you can test
your bravery with a view of the sea below. Let’s look at the digital screens scattered
around the ship. You can view the entertainment on-board and
reserve restaurants using your key card. At the Getaway Box Office, you can book all
the shows on-board. And the Getaway Theatre shows such as ‘Million
Dollar Quartet’… …and ‘Legally Blonde the Musical’ depending on your cruise. We thought the entertainment was outstanding
on our cruise. We particularly enjoyed ‘Million Dollar
Quartet’. Nest stop… O’Sheehan’s Neighbourhood Bar
& Grill. First, The Bowling Alley which is an extra
charge. There is plenty of seating here where you
can have a drink or order some food from the grill We thought the food here was fantastic and
it is available 24 hours a day. It overlooks the main atrium and big screen. This is the very centre of Deck 7 surrounded
by the casino. Just inside the casino is the Shanghai’s
Noodle Bar. This is complementary but unfortunately, we
did not get to try it as it was so popular. And located in the Casino is Bar 21 where
you can gamble and drink at the bar. Next, Bliss. It’s a great space with LED
lights all around the club. The nightclub is open to family’s until
11pm when it is adults only. Moving along to the back of the ship is The Tropicana Room which is one of the main dining rooms on-board. This is the largest main dining room and has a space in the middle for live entertainment when you dine. It is a very cool dining room and food is
good too! So, let’s go down a deck to Deck 6. Here we have the Mixx bar, which is located between
the other two main dining rooms on-board… …Savour and Taste. These dining rooms are smaller and very similar
in décor. Moving along Deck 6 we have the Art Gallery. Coming up on the right-hand side is Teppanyaki. The Japanese dinner and show resturant. This restaurant is great fun with the chef putting on a show while he cooks your dinner at your table. Not to mention the food is delicious. Next door is Le Bistro, the French restaurant
on-board. There is a lovely “outdoor” seating area in the atrium where you can dine al fresco. Inside is an intimate space perfect for a
dinner for two, or dinner with friends. The food here is mouth-watering. Just opposite is the Headliners Comedy Club.
Here you can watch shows such as… …‘Howl at the Moon – Duelling Pianos’. These shows get very busy so we recommend you arrive nice and early. Let’s take a stroll though the other side
of the art gallery to the main atrium. Surrounding the main atrium is the Guest Services
and On-board Credit desks. Just next to this is the Cruise Consultant
desk where you can book you next cruise. Or for any shore excursions you can book them here at the Shore Excursions desk. The main atrium hosts entertainment throughout
the day and into the evening. Just next-door is the Atrium Bar where you
can grab a drink… …or the Atrium Café where you can grab coffee
and cake. The shows in the atrium are very popular so
we recommend you arrive early. You can also watch the shows upstairs in O’sheehan’s. Just outside is another walk around promenade
deck. What a view! Back inside we have the Card and Games Room. There is a selection games and cards ready to play. Next door is the Library with a selection
of books for you to take out… or bring your and it is a nice relaxing
space. And finally, on Deck 6 is the Illusionarium. The theming of the Illusionarium is awesome. It is home to 2 paid dinner shows; ‘Wine Lovers
the Musical’ and ‘Cirque Dreams and Steam’. So, Cruisers that’s the end of the tour.
What did we think… We loved the Norwegian Getaway. It is a stunning ship with amazing entertainment and amazing staff. The food on-board was delicious and the buffet
was the best buffet food we have ever enjoyed on a cruise ship. Thanks for watching. Don’t forget to follow
