A man has died after a car plunged over a cliff onto a beach at a seaside resort on the south coast Emergency services were called to the scene shortly before 9.30am. Despite desperate efforts to save his life, the man died at the scene, police confirmed in a statement this afternoon The area around the cliffs have been cordoned off, Devon Live reports. Police, coastguard, and ambulance crews were called to the beach, with a coastguard helicopter and lifeboats deployed A police spokesman said: “A man has died after a vehicle went over cliffs in Peak Hill Road, Sidmouth, this morning Have you been affected by this incident? Email [email protected] “Emergency services were called at 9 25am. The vehicle ended up on the beach. “A man was pronounced deceased at the scene Police are currently working to confirm his identity. “Work is currently being done to recover the vehicle ” An eyewitness said: “The air ambulance has landed and there is a Sea King helicopter flying around It happened about half an hour ago.
