In this video, we’ll show you how to ship
goods to the US. There are a few steps you need to follow to ensure your goods clear customs with ease. US customs requires shipments to have a precise
goods description and an accurate Harmonised System Code. To avoid delays, you should also provide details like the country of origin and the receiver’s contact details. This information must be in English. Some goods such as food, drugs, biological substances and medical devices are subject to additional governmental control by authorities such as the FDA, the US Food and Drug Administration. If you’re shipping these types of goods, your US receiver will need FDA approval. To get this, they need to enter their details on the US Customs and Border Protection website. Your receiver needs to comply with US Regulations, so it’s important to check if they need any authorisations or certificates before shipping. Send a copy of the invoice to your receiver to ensure the details are correct before shipping. They may also need a clearance broker. If so, remember to include the broker’s contact details on your invoice. Adding your receiver’s phone number and email address to the invoice and packing list will avoid clearance delays should your carrier have any questions. Finally, make sure you check US regulations before shipping as they’re frequently updated. Now, you’re ready to ship. Thanks for watching! Explore The Shipping Channel for more videos.
