  1. First of all. You never pick up a baby and sit them on a railing that High anyway! What was he thinking??? Now you want to blaim the cruise ship for your father's stupidity. Umm?? No

  2. I’m not sitting a baby down on anything if it is not a chair or on the ground. If you sit a baby on a window or whatever why weren’t you still holding the baby. Why sue the cruise ship when it was the grandfather’s negligence?

  3. A lot of questions going through people's minds but I'm just going to say, please parents and grandparents watch your children.

  4. Sue the cruise line? My heart goes to the family but the parents are to blame…. baby should always be watched by parents and it’s their responsibility. You’re in a cruise ship! Not meant for babies. This is clearly a tragic accident.

  5. How could he not see there was no window!! And never pick up a child to see anything!! On a large liner!! This was accidental also negligence and stupidity!! I would be very careful who watches a very young child!!

  6. I’m sorry I been on a cruises. Tons. It’s impossible for you to not realize a window is open. Even if the shop is dock and the sun is out. You will feel the breeze no matter what. That makes you think about his healthy at the time. Or was he drinking. Why? A baby that young on a cruise. Why you have grandpop babysitting. Get a real sitter or take care your child. Why would anybody what they parents to go through such a horrific experience. It happens to offer when grandparents make mistakes and a grandchild dies.

  7. The grandfather should not have place the baby on that high windowsill. It is painful, but he is at fault for that accident.

  8. This is super sad. I dont think they should charge him but I also dont think the family should have sued right after it happened. And also, only Michael Jackson was allowed to swing his kid from the balcony. Why would you chance it???

  9. I’ve cried several times for people I don’t know but nothing has busted me up as bad as this. So tragic for the parents and grandfather and terrible to think of the baby’s last moments.

  10. This poor man. No loving grandparent deserves to have this legacy in the last years of his life. This is a horrible accident, nothing more. It is ludicrous that this is being viewed as criminal.

  11. As he should..definitely be charged..like what the hell..i mean he was being reckless..and deserve the consequences that comes with it..that baby would have still been alive today had the grandfather pick her up, kiss her and put her back down like most normal people do..like it's not rocket science..

  12. When you are in any vessel please know that unless you are in an enclosed room with a/c there will be either no windows or windows that open for ventilation… You are on a ship on water not in a building. Common sense is not very common.
The charge is appropriate… It is a homicide because there was a death and he was negligent because he put the baby on the railing. It was an accident but he was wreckless!

  13. This sweet child had been allowed to bang on the glass at her brother's hockey games before all this happened! Why allow a child to bang on glass to begin with? Something not right with this family…

  14. They want to be accident but want sue for money. It’s American way of things. The grandfather probably open the window too. If not don’t think he’ll charge with murder

  15. It's absolutely the grandpa's negligence!!!! He should have never sat her on the railings. He needs to do life time in prison and parents need to accept the fact that he is responsible. It is not the cruise ships fault. They are just trying to blame someone else rather then their own family! They are trying to make a quick dollar! They should go after the grandpa!!!!!!!!!!

  16. That's not right, it was a accident, that old man could hardly see. The people who run the ship should be charged. Should have had a sigh up or something. That man is suffering enough, losing his granddaughter like that. Let him alone, Father GOD in heaven please take care of your son, give him the Faith, letting him know you will never leave him, and that you will be his lawyer in The Mighty name of JESUS. AMEN and AMEN

  17. There is no punishment the law can give this man worse than what he will be going through for the rest of his life! That being said, because of his very poor judgment very soon you’re going to see those windows on the decks of the crew ship sealed shut. The cruise lines should not be sued because this man made a very bad decision to raise this baby up that close to a window.

  18. You can’t blame the cruise line for having windows? Windows are Windows. The Grandfather is to blame for not watching the child. Give the grandfather charges not the cruise line.

  19. No had the grandfather been vigilant on the surroundings of his grandchild this would not have happened. You never assume anything when it comes the safety of anyone that cannot make that decision on their own. I always touched and pushed on anything that could have been a danger to the children around me. So I believe both is at fault. Sorry for all.

  20. Money won't bring their child back. That's the unfortunate part. The grandad is at fault even though it was an error. I'm unsure if jail is the way to go though. The ship should add a note that the windows are unsafe and don't put kids near the area. That should change.

  21. It was a tragic accident. I’m sure the grandfather feels horrible. He shouldn’t be charged. Don’t torture the family anymore.

  22. The grandfather should've not put his grandbaby up on the rails next to a window closed or opened. The cruise line shouldn't have and open windows where children are running around playing. This was a tragic accident that shouldn't have happened.

  23. Seriously?! They are hurting the entire family of Chloe, mostly Chloe’s own mom and dad…no one else. Let them grieve! I’m guessing someone has connections that didn’t like that the family was preparing to sue the cruise line.

  24. Grandpa neglected to see a problem or danger in his act of improperly handling a baby by a window. His ignorance caused an outcome of death of a child. Should he go to jail? He should be sued for a wrongful death lawsuit. Then the family givin the choice of a sentencing. They could have more impact and for their own healing. Side note: This man has remorse and pain. This was obviously not intentional. Sadly, we still prosecute ignorance. Ignorance can come with very sad consequences. The criticism that follows the cruise line should be cleared. Possibly warning precaution sign's posted on windows!

  25. That's so frickin sad. It was a horrible accident but the grandfather already is being punished living with this. To be charged I can't imagine what this is doing to him and family. My heart breaks for parents and grandfather. 😢💔

  26. The cruise line is not at fault a person who put a child in harms way window open or closed that child fell and could have hit her head and died window closed. Irresponsible adult and money hungry lawyer. Face it parents he put your child on a railing no child should be on a railing anywhere they are not seats.

  27. I say charge the grandfather with negligent homicide and if he's convicted give him time served. That level of deadly irresponsibility needs to be answered in court but I don't know if society will benefit from him serving prison time.

  28. And before he puts baby on the windowsill or whatever the case may have been he knew that particular window was open that's the reason why he was able to do that that's all I'm going to say I wasn't there of course but who does that knowing that you're that high up

  29. This could have been prevented if the grandfather had NOT put the kid up on a ledge…you can CLEARLY see when those windows are open! Stop trying to blame the cruise line on your OWN negligence!!!!!

  30. It was the cruise’s fault they should’ve had all windows closed and locked smh obviously the grandpa didn’t mean to do that omg how awful 😞😞

  31. so let me think… the window goes from the floor all the way to the ceiling your granddaughter could have stood on the floor and Bang on the windows. So you picked her up stood her on railing next to open window and let go of her ??

  32. Accident. No one to blame. I am sure this family has suffered enough. This is a time when the DA should be able to see there is no evidence to proceed with charges. This man would have never dropped his grandchild on purpose.

  33. Honestly older or overweight grandparents should have limited supervision on children. I see many who are too old or too fat (one on a motorized scooter) who have watch/walk their grandchildren. She couldn’t even get out of the her scooter to help the young child do much. Unless the grandparents are young, in some cultures they could even be in their early 50s Is the only way to be able to keep children safe. Predators look for easy prey.

  34. The parents should've considered the possibility of him going to jail before they filed a 500 million dollar lawsuit against the cruise line for something that was truly a horrible accident. They should've left the situation alone, but they wanted someone to blame and I guess it was easier to blame the line instead of Grandpa, I guess they see now, you can't have it both ways. My heartbreaks for all involved.

  35. I don't know all the facts…..but what a tragic happening for the family and the child. Why does vacation sometimes create tragedy?

  36. Alright what really matters here a precious child died. This shouldnt be up for debate, unless we all know the laws, who liable, the people the cruislines rules on safety and liability.

May this little girl rest in peace. May my prayers help in healing what could be a long process and may all find forgiveness and peace with each other.

  37. It was a mistake and I'm sure the grandfather wishes it was him and not her. But both sides should let go. Let the toddler rest in peace and I hope something like this never happens again.

  38. I mean this story has many questionable theorys… one being the stability of the grandfather, lets start there…

  39. I feel bad for the family and feel very sad for the grandfather. I have so much empathy for this whole family.

  40. Poor family!! Accidents happens and sometimes we are just distracted for notice a hazard.. I think the grandpa is suffering enough!! Charges for homicide is too much!!

  41. Well, they can't sue the grandfather because he doesn't have millions to offer for HIS negligence so why not get money from Royal. I see their game… certain that will make them feel soooooo much better.

  42. I think it was negligent on the part of Royal Caribbean. I feel bad for the grieving grandpa when all he wanted to do was take grand daughter to watch the attractions below

  43. I was just on Royal Caribbean the windows I separated by a railing you have to crawl under the railing to get to an open window there is no way he will win that lawsuit

  44. Now this family is double devastated. Have they not suffered enough?? I would sue the cruise line and use the money to get my grandfather back
